Foreign Ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations have discussed the alleged persecution of the Rohingya. The Rohingya is a Muslim minority group in predominantly Buddhist Myanmar.
The officials held an informal meeting in Yangon, Myanmar on Monday amid increasing international criticism over the plight of the Rohingya.
There have been several clashes since October between Rohingya militants and the Myanmar military and police in the country's western state of Rakhine. The Muslim group says many Rohingya people have been killed and Rohingya women have been attacked.
