Got two interesting notes from AJ:
Windows 10 updates produce a history list of all failed/succesful updates. You told me about Wushowhide, and that was a very pleasant way of getting rid of a recurring failed update.
Now, about ten days ago, due to circumstances, I had to use Acronis 2016 to recover the most recent c: -image. That worked very well and so far everything is all right.
Or rather not. There are two things clouded in mystery.
– the history update list was not recovered [but Windows 10 told me all updates were installed].
All I noticed was what you can see on the added snapshot.
– update KB3106246, though I got it hidden the way you told me to do, was back [see snap-shot]. Such things never happened in Windows 7.
I hid it once again, and hence it did not return for a third time. Well, at least not for the past ten days…
My questions:
– Is there such thing like a history list of all the installed/failed updates on one’s hard disk? If so, where did Microsoft put it? There must be one, or how else did MS get it in its update settings?
– Where did Microsoft hide its hidden list?
I’m eagerly looking forward to your answer.
And later…
I just got an email from Acronis Tech. It says:
First of all I would like to kindly tell you that if you recovered you system successfully then do not worry so much. Which means you are in safe with the Acronis software.
After I received your details, I have checked the issue with our experts and got their confirmation. The issue with your updates history is actually a known issue but not on Acronis side. Unfortunately this is the by design behavior of a Windows operating system and there is nothing we can do since we cannot change Windows by design behavior. We have an article for this which you can find from the following link:

I already feel more safe now.
Anybody out there have some insight into the problem and/or the response from Acronis?
