Dear Summer Camp Participants,
Welcome to the Summer Camp! To make this experience precious and worthwhile, here are things I would like you to do before / during the camp:
1) Be ready to communicate in English at all times. Review English grammar and increase vocabulary during the summer vacation. Listen to English every day!
2) Respect other camp members, make friends with them and cooperate with each other. There will be a lot of group work, so learn to work well with others and contribute to your group.
3) Finish the homework. (See the “Pre-course Assignment” file.)
4) Bring everything you need to spend one night and two days. The seminar house is not a hotel, so there’s nothing really there except for futon or beds. You’ll need things like towels and a toothbrush, for example. Don’t forget to bring what you need for study such as pens, paper and your dictionary. A copy of your health insurance card and medicine will be handy in case of emergency.
5) Be punctual.
Please be informed that you are not allowed to go outside the premises of the seminar house during the camp. Also, the university is going to take some photos and footage for the publicity purpose. If you don’t want your pictures to be used on the website or posters, please email me. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me (nsakurai@cc.kyoto-su.ac.jp).
See you all in September!
Sincerely,
Nobuko Sakurai
Head Instructor for the Summer Camp
