Recommendations for the preparation of 100% Tencel® LF micro woven fabrics
Singe
Desize (CPB enzyme)
Wash (continuous range)
Stenter set
Singe
TENCEL LF fabrics requires slower processing speeds than cotton fabrics, due to its higher moisture content (approx.11%) compared to cotton.
Singeing speed: 70 – 80 m/min
Desize (CPB enzyme)
Padding: 80-90 % liquor uptake
Batch: approx. 12 hours.
Wash (continuous range)
We would recommend using the standard machines from bleaching the cotton fabrics; however the bleaching area should be bypassed and the second application bath and steamer should be used to scour the fabric with the following conditions:
2 g/l sodium carbonate
1.0 – 2.0 g/l detergent
*** No Peroxide ***
Run 30mins @ 70°C
Tensions should be kept to a minimum at all times. The cylinder dryers should be kept as cool as possible to enable residual moisture of 5% on the fabrics after drying.
Stenter setting
The fabric should be pad through water directly before entering the stenter. It is very important that the fabric enters the stenter in the wet state. This will enable the fabrics to be given the required amount of overfeed to achieve good shrinkage performance and the correct GSM.
