I wondered why Germans were called Heinies in WWI and after.

It's a shortened form of Heinrich, a common German first name. At the turn of the 20th century, there were major league ball players named Heinrich, who were called "Heinie" for short.

In this hilarioius new Northern Quilted commercial, in which a little girl tells her baby sister that her heinie will be happier with Northern Q. Just Top Drawer!
Incidentally, in med-school, and chiropractic college we're taught about heinie and gynie exams.

I have met it in TV serial 'The Big Bang Theory' (s04e17). Google could not give me an answer what is 'heinie'. So thank you. It is amasing how many synonims there are to such a simple notion.
