Andrallus spinidens (Hemiptera; Pentatomidae) merupakan kepik predator
yang sangat potensial sebagai musuh alami, akan tetapi informasi yang
komprehensif mengenai persebarannya masih sangat sedikit di Indonesia. Oleh
karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui keberadaan dan tingkat
populasi A. spinidens di Jawa Barat yang diwakili empat daerah (Bogor, Garut,
Pangalengan, dan Cianjur). Penelitian dilakukan di lapangan dengan pengamatan
langsung untuk menentukan keberadaan kepik predator ini dan menghitung
tingkat populasinya. Pengamatan persebaran dilakukan dengan melihat langsung
keberadaan kepik ini pada lahan pertanaman di tiap lokasi pengamatan. Setiap
individu yang telihat diambil dengan menggunakan jaring untuk menentukan
populasi kepik pada daerah tersebut. Untuk menghitung ordinat dan ketinggian
dari tempat sampel yang diambil menggunakan GPS (global position system) dan
dipetakan ke dalam perangkat komputer dengan menggunakan program Map
Source.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa A. spinidens dapat ditemukan pada
berbagai tempat dengan ketinggian yang berbeda. Namun demikian
kelimpahannya sangat bervariasi dan umumnya rendah. Pada tanaman wortel
