Cervical Cancer ScreeningOne Healthy People 2020 target for cervical cancer is to increase to 93.0% the percentage of women who have had a cervical cancer screening test based on the most recent guidelines. The USPSTF guidelines recommend screening for cervical cancer in women ages 21 to 65 years with a Pap test every 3 years or, for women ages 30 to 65 years who want to lengthen the screening interval, screening with a combination of cytology and human papilloma- virus (HPV) testing every 5 years.In 2012 and 2014, 88.2% and 86.7% of Maryland women age 21 to 65 years, respectively, reported they had a Pap test within the past 3 years.
